Red Door Studios is a recording company based in Amanzimtoti and focuses on all music genres but mainly targets the youth.

’’I have always felt that there is a gap in the music industry between people coming from university or tertiary and getting into the music industry, they would rather go play in pubs.’’ says, Studio Owner Ernie Smith.

Ernie has built the studio specifically to target young aspiring artists. He plans to educate them musically through training and upskilling while also preparing them for the industry. In 2023 Smith aspires to train up his own music engineers.

All types of music genres including amapiano and hip hop are welcome in the studio. ‘’The Red Door speaks of opportunity and influence, access, and the blood of Jesus. It is an atmosphere for creativity, for people to engage and exchange,’’ he adds.
